"For the past seven years we have relied on Pratch & Company for psychological due diligence on prospective executives before closing a deal. Their assessments of how prospective CEOs are likely to function when under stress have proved to be dead-on accurate. We use their assessments to guide our investment decisions."

Our Active Coping Assessment℠ System allows us to predict an executive’s capacity for leadership before a client makes a funding or hiring decision. We seek to reduce to a minimum the costs associated with poor business leadership, and maximize the performance of the executive.
Our assessments, all conducted by Leslie Pratch, involve three sequential steps over a week’s time. These steps include:
- Interviews with investors, superiors, and co-workers to determine what the position demands and the expectations the executive is to fulfill. We also gain an understanding of the complexities of problems the executive will face, the responsibilities of his role, and its relationship to other roles within the company and to important outside constituencies.
- An assessment of the executive. This is the heart of the process. During four hours, we look at the executive's capabilities, developmental and career history, values, and readiness to learn and grow. We pay close attention to such factors as intellectual capacity, understanding of leadership, capacity to sustain mature relationships, humility and openness to self-awareness.
- Feedback and discussion. Within a week of the assessment, we provide verbal feedback to the person requesting the assessment, along with recommendations regarding the candidate. We provide a written summary of the assessment within six days. Verbal feedback to the candidate is also available, if appropriate.
